The Di5ru.pt blog

Nerisa and Media24 colleague Minette Ferreira will be among several speakers in a block of sessions focused on innovation in magazine media at the FIPP World Media Congress, 7-9 June, Cascais, Portugal.

Nerissa and Minette will explain how Covid-19 had an outsized impact on South Africa, and how creative thinking and grit helped the magazine division innovate through the pandemic, developing a new publishing model they called “Outsource Content Production”.

Speaking to our FIPP friends ahead of Congress, Nerisa says, Our division is reaping the rewards of the interventions introduced amid the global pandemic to remain a sustainable magazine publishing business”.

She discusses the publishing environment in South Africa, and the way Media24, a division of Naspers, perhaps best-known globally for its investment in Tencent, is monetising both its mainstream and vertical niche brands. She explains how Media24 Lifestyle had recent success with advertiser-funded platforms in recent years, as well as where she sees future growth coming from.

Apart from speaking, Media24 Lifestyle will have a stand in the Media Zone at Congress. Meet with them there to discuss licensing and other partnership opportunities.
