Tell us about your business

Pugpig is the publishing platform that powers the world’s leading media brands, from Conde Nast, Hearst and Future to DMGT, The Independent and Tortoise Media.

We work with over 140 publishers to conceive, launch and run their digital platforms, working hand-in-hand with them every step of the way; offering advice on product strategy, getting everything up and running, supporting them once they’re live and making sure they are able to make the most of the Pugpig platform.

Tell us about your role in the business

I’m the co-founder and CEO

What do you see as the three main challenges for media?

  • Switching to reader revenue as the predominant source of income
  • Convincing people under 30 that high quality content has a value and it’s worth paying for
  • Ensuring that brands remain relevant in a world where individual influencers have the lion’s share of attention

What do you see as the three main opportunities for media?

  • In a world full of pseudo experts, the unique ability to offer high quality, trusted content that people will really value
  • Using the power of brands and well thought through membership models to pull together highly engaged and deeply loyal paying audiences
  • Audio and video have come of age – it’s time to really monetise them (again as part of a reader revenue offering)

Why should people meet with you at the Congress?

We’re here to help publishers define and execute their digital product strategy. We’d love to chat with people, understand what they’re trying to achieve and see if there’s a way that we can help them on the way.

What will you be doing at the Congress?

We’ll be at our stand where you can come and chat about your digital strategy and see how Pugpig works. We’ll also be up bright and early every morning with the Pugpig Trotters – you can come with us for a nice easy run along the coast or a beautiful brisk walk to help get you set for the day ahead!
